What is Polirus?

Polirus is a small language school founded on the love of teaching and languages.
Polirus is the name formed from the languages Polish – Russian.
Polirus was created by me – Alicja Dzierżak-Wawer. Below, you will have the pleasure to get to know me better.

Why should I learn with you?
I am a teacher, linguist, and psychopedagogue with 10 years of experience in teaching languages. Comprehensive education with a background in pedagogy, psychology, as well as music helps me prepare the student in the most professional way possible.
An individual approach to the student makes each lesson unique, and the time in class is used optimally. If the topic is very engaging, often our discussion is still going on after class!

Can I feel taken care of in class?
Of course! Teaching is my passion, not just my job. I always listen to the students and their needs comes first for me! My knowledge of psychopedagogy makes me place a lot of emphasis in my classes on the psychological aspect and the comfort of the student during the lesson – they are my priority. My status as an examiner allows me to prepare the student comprehensively and work at any level of language proficiency. In my classes, I combine language learning with elements of Polish and Slavic culture.

What methods do you use in your classes to help your students achieve their language goals?
Over the years, I have developed my own methods, which I know bring the expected results. However, everyone is different, and I tailor each class to the individual needs of the student. I use traditional methods – the textbook is a very important base of any course as it allows you to monitor the path towards the goal – and also take advantage of the tremendous opportunities provided by today’s world of technology – games, interactive exercises, and my own original materials. I promise you will not be bored!

Which course to choose? Individual or group?
Individual classes will be an excellent choice if you value learning the language at your own pace, want to consult your language doubts, or need substantive repetition before an exam or test. I am fully committed to you and we can adjust path to your learning goals, accordingly to your individual preferences.
I also provide group classes for all levels of language proficiency and exam preparation. If at this time you would like to join a group, but non is currently open, just create one. Gather a group of friends or look around for study buddies on social media groups – there are tons of language learning groups on the net. The more, the merrier!
